One of the true pleasures of ceramics lies in discovering the depth and variety that emerge when different artists use the same techniques, each expressing their unique sensibilities. This exhibition presents the diverse expressions of two artists, Katsunori Sawa and Kazuhiro Fukushima, who create their works in neighboring regions—Shigaraki and Iga. On display are pieces that showcase their latest approaches and current directions in ceramics: Sawa’s Yobitsugi, Shigaraki, and Oribe styles, as well as Fukushima’s Iga, Iga-Shino, and Oribe Kairagi-de techniques. The show features a wide range of works, from tableware and sake ware to tea bowls, flower vases, and one-of-a-kind sculptural pieces. We warmly invite you to visit and experience the richness of their ceramic artistry.
