We are pleased to announce a solo exhibition by Terauchi Shinji, head of Arita ware manufacturer “Riso Porcelain” and an active ceramic artist. Arita ware has a long history spanning 400 years, and Terauchi embraces its traditions while continuing to explore new forms of expression that look forward to the future.
The theme of this exhibition is “Freedom.” It represents his challenge to break free from traditional repetition and open new possibilities within Arita’s long-standing heritage. During the exhibition, works created using a variety of techniques, including tea ware, sake ware, and flower vases, will be showcased and available for purchase. This is a rare opportunity to see one-of-a-kind ceramics, each shaped on the potter’s wheel and hand-painted by Terauchi himself. We look forward to welcoming you.
