HULS Gallery Tokyo will hold an exhibition of works by Hiroshi Taruta, a ceramic artist from Seto who specializes in creating works using the openwork technique called “hotarude”. This technique involves filling transparent glaze into the carved holes to create an effect that allows light to pass through. He incorporates lines of light that he finds beautiful into his creations, drawing inspiration from meteor showers, raindrops illuminated by street lamps, and light penetrating through clouds. The exhibition will showcase “houhin”, a tea server that he made for the first time. We hope you will discover the beauty of light emanating from the carved patterns.
