Throwing Works of Shinji Terauchi, Riso Porcelain, Arita Exhibition
From 2nd (Mon) to 21st (Sat) September, HULS Gallery Tokyo will hold an exhibition of works by Shinji Terauchi, the head of Riso Porcelain which is a manufacturer of Arita ware.
Pursuing the creation of tableware that makes food beautiful, Mr. Terauchi has achieved a number of collaborations with top international chefs. In this exhibition, we showcase and sell various tableware which feature his throwing works such as cups and servers for sake and tea.
A special table setting themed on “the beauty of crafts for daily use” will be arranged by space coordinator, Ms. Yumiko Sato. We hope you will enjoy the world of Riso Porcelain which adds flavor to your table setting with the coming of autumn.
A gallery talk presented by Mr. Terauchi will start at 2:00 p.m. on 7th (Sat) September with English translation.

Shinji Terauchi /Profile
1962 Born in Arita, Saga Prefecture
1985 B.A. in Industrial, Interior and Craft Design at Musashino Art University
1985 Joined Aito Co., Ltd. (Product development department)
1988 Joined Riso Porcelain, Ltd. and started studying and reproduction of early Imari ware
As the fourth-generation head of the Riso Porcelain, he actively carries out collaborations with international top chefs while pursuing classic and contemporary beautiful forms with the inherited tradition and accumulated techniques of Arita ware.
