DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the solo exhibition of lacquer artist Eiko Tanaka, who is based in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture. In this exhibition, we will showcase her new works inspired by the theme of “mass.” For Tanaka, “mass” represents minimalistic forms with minimal cutting, serving as the fundamental concept in her creative process, leading to the creation of items such as lidded containers, tableware, and objets d’art. You can also discover new texture expressions that have never been seen before in her works. She studied under Torao Nakashima, handling all works by herself, from wood turning to lacquer painting.
